Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Étoira collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Étoira is registered in the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce no. 42053755) and sells to customers in South Africa. We are responsible for your personal information. Questions? Email support@etoira.com.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and the items you buy. Payments are handled by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card details.
- When you contact us: your messages and anything you choose to share, such as photos of an item.
- When you sign up for our emails: your email address and your preferences.
- When you visit our website: technical information such as your device, browser, IP address and the pages you view, collected through cookies.
Why we use it
- To process, ship and track your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
- To answer your questions and help with your order.
- To send you our emails and offers, only if you've signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
- To keep our website secure, prevent fraud and improve how the site works.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
We only share what's needed, with partners who help us run Étoira:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and checkout. Shopify may also use information about your activity for its own services, as described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.
- Payment providers, to process your payment securely.
- Our fulfilment partner and couriers, to prepare and deliver your order.
- Klaviyo, which sends our emails, if you've signed up.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to measure how our ads perform and to show you relevant ads.
We never sell your personal information.
International transfers
Because we work with partners around the world, your information may be stored or processed outside South Africa, including in the European Union, North America and Asia. We only work with partners who protect your information with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep order information as long as needed for your order, returns and our legal and tax records, usually up to 7 years. We keep your email preferences until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and European data protection law (GDPR), you can ask us to:
- see the personal information we hold about you;
- correct or delete it;
- stop using it for marketing;
- stop using it for advertising purposes, including on Meta;
- object to or limit how we use it.
Email support@etoira.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to South Africa's Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) or the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Cookies
We use cookies to make our website work, to remember your cart, and for analytics and advertising, including Meta. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Children
Our store is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information about children.
